First Female Priest To Be Ordained In The Windward Islands

ST.GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – History will be made in Windward Islands Anglican community with the upcoming ordination of the first female priest.

Eleanor Candasie Glasgow, who became the first female Deacon in 2011, will be ordained to the Holy Order of the Priesthood on September 9.

Glasgow was born in Barbados where she attained a first degree and later a master’s degree in Theology at Codrington College.

She is married to Vincentian-born Christian Glasgow who is the Archdeacon of the Anglican Community in Grenada.

The Windward Islands Diocese includes St. Lucia, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
