GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – India is providing a US$50 million line of credit to Guyana for the East Bank Demerara Road expansion project, according to a government statement issued here.
It said, that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the pledge following talks with President Donald Ramotrar, who is on a six-day visit to New Delhi.
According to the statement, India is also providing “funds in the amount of US$8Million to assist in the acquisition of an ocean ferry vessel”.
The statement said, that “the Indian government will also work with the Guyana government in a pilot project on renewable energy, using a rice husk gassifier.”
