“As we look back on the impact of reggae music around the globe we accept that some of the music’s most iconic performers are gone, but never forgotten,” muses Denise Jones, President of Jones and Jones Productions, a respected Brampton event management and concert production company.

Early in Black History Month (BHM), the decades-old live entertainment company and TEN81 Lifestyle, will unveil Tribute To The Legends – A Jambana™ Reggae Jam — that Jones hopes will assure that the iconic performers she referenced above, are “never forgotten”.

An extension of the globally renowned Jambana™ One World Festival experience, the concert is being marketed as “a musical ‘Rocumentary’ that pays tribute to the life and music of Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs and Joseph Hill.

“A dynamic presentation of music and digital projection, celebrating Reggae’s best and gets you up close and personal to the catalogues of the icons themselves. This ‘Reggae Rocumentary’ unfolds with Canada’s finest reggae music acts, each performing their rendition of the legends’ hits”.

Featured on the show will be live renditions of the legends’ catalogues of music, performed by four-time Juno Award winner, Exco Levi, Chester Miller, Nana Maclean, Universal Music’s Lucas DiPasquale, Mr. Cooper and The Human Rights Band. DJ Joshua Lucas will keep the crowd rocking in between performances with selections from the legends.

“Tribute to The Legends will provide fans with the opportunity to connect to the live sounds of some of their favourite music and artists. We’ll never be able to replace the legends we pay tribute to, and that’s not our goal,” says Jesse Jones, President and Chief Innovation Officer of TEN81 Lifestyle Inc.

“This is a live show experience with some of today’s top living talent that allows us all to re-live the moments connected to some of the biggest songs in music,” he adds.

Denise Jones reveals, “We are also saluting living legends, Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt and Rita Marley. We’ve had the honour of working with all three of these female legends, as well as the men, with the exception of Bob. This will surely be a night to remember.”

The tribute To The Legends concert will take place at the Opera House (735 Queen St E, Toronto) on Saturday, February 6, and at the Ritual Night Club, 137 Besserer Street, Ottawa, on Saturday, February 13. For both locations, the doors will open at 8PM and show will start at 10PM.

Tickets for the Toronto show are $22.50 in advance; the Ottawa concert cost $20.00 in advance; and are on sale now at www.ticketfly.com and in various outlets.

“Tribute to The Legends is a return to what helped make a name for the Jones & Jones brand, years ago. The business started by producing live shows and bringing people together in a warm and uplifting environment,” says Allan Jones, Co-Founder of Jones & Jones Productions.

“It feels good to integrate some fresh twists that make it feel very 2016. The Opera House, a venue we’ve used for many shows in the past, also feels like home. We’re ready for two great shows in both Toronto and Ottawa.”
