Jamaican Businessman Guilty Of Decapitating Mother Of His Child

KINGSTON, Jamaica, July 19, 2016 (CMC) – A High Court judge will, on July 28, decide on the sentence to be imposed on businessman, Trevor Taffe, who was found guilty of decapitating the mother of his child on April 3.

Justice Evan Brown presided at the trial, where a seven-member jury in the Home Circuit Court, yesterday, returned a guilty verdict against Taffe, after hearing evidence in the case, in which he was accused of killing Nicole Heron, 26.

The court heard that Heron went to Taffe’s home in Havendale, St. Andrew on April 3 and when she did not return home, her family filed a missing person’s report with the police.

A police team visited the businessman’s house and conducted a search of the premises and found burnt articles of female clothing. The police said during the search, they found Heron’s decomposing body, with several stab wounds, floating in a septic pit.

The police said the body was identified by family members and through DNA.

In his defence, the businessman said he loved the mother of his child very much and that he would never hurt her.
