British Youth Dies In Freak Accident In Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica, March 15, 2017 (CMC) – A 16-year-old British national died, yesterday after she fell onto the deck of a yacht, while cleaning its mast.

Police said Bethany Smith died at hospital, where she had been taken after falling on the yacht, “Germania Nova”, docked in the Errol Flynn Marina in Portland, a parish located on the island’s northeast coast.

The police said that Smith was cleaning the mast of the vessel when the ropes became undone and she fell onto the deck. She suffered multiple injuries.
