Bay Gardens Resorts Acquires Fourth Hotel In St. Lucia

RODNEY BAY, St. Lucia June 5, 2018 — Bay Gardens Resorts has expanded its holdings to four hotels on the Eastern Caribbean island of St. Lucia.

Sanovnik Destang, Executive Director of Bay Gardens Resorts, announcing the acquisition of the 35-room Palm Haven Hotel, said it would be renamed Bay Gardens Marina Haven.

“The hotel is in an incredible location,” reported Destang, a chartered accountant and chartered financial analyst, who spent four years working with KPMG in Toronto, Canada, in the fields of assurance and Mergers and Acquisitions advisory, before returning to St. Lucia in 2008.

“It’s now our closest hotel to the Rodney Bay Marina, which is an exceptional facility for yachties, as well as those looking to take advantage of numerous activities in the marina, from restaurants and bars to shopping.”

The newest addition to the Bay Gardens family of hotels will re-open in mid-July, after undergoing a soft renovation and staff training to align service delivery at the property with Bay Gardens’ award-winning standards.

“There will be no reduction in staffing levels for Bay Gardens Marina Haven, either during the period of renovation or upon its anticipated reopening in July,” assured Destang, who is also the President of the St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA), the youngest in the organisation’s 53 year history.

Bay Gardens Resorts is now a group of locally-owned and operated award-winning hotels — Bay Gardens Inn, Bay Gardens Hotel, Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa and Bay Gardens Marina Haven — all located within, or near, Rodney Bay Village, St. Lucia’s entertainment capital.

Bay Gardens Resorts' Executive Director, Sanovnik Destang, is also Regional Vice President at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), serves as a Director on the Board of the St. Lucia Development Bank (SLDB), and served as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the newly launched Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF).

Under Sanovnik’s leadership, the group was able to return to profitability, after a period of significant losses, using a combination of innovative online marketing methods, combined with a focus on active yield management and product enhancements, aimed at boosting average daily rates.

All four of the Bay Gardens Resorts’ properties are close to more than 40 restaurants, entertainment venues, duty-free shopping malls, the Treasure Bay Casino and the Rodney Bay Marina.

The recently acquired hotel is located within a five-minute drive of Bay Gardens Inn and Bay Gardens Hotel and 10 minutes from the Beach Resort.

Marina Haven will offer guests the full benefits of a Bay Gardens experience, including six complimentary one-hour passes to Splash Island Water Park, the use of beach chairs, the ability to charge consumption across properties to their rooms, free non-motorized water sports, and complimentary shuttle service, between all the Bay Gardens Resorts facilities.

All the properties offer comfortable accommodations, traditional Caribbean cuisine, warm Caribbean service and hospitality, and the Bay Gardens’ Splash Island Water Park, a popular attraction on St. Lucia’s Reduit Beach — the first open water sports park in the nation.
