KINGSTON, Jamaica, June 11, 2018 (CMC) – Police have detained three men, after they seized more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana, during an operation in St. Elizabeth, on the southwest coast of Jamaica, last night.
Police said that the men, whose identities were not disclosed, had been observed off-loading several knitted plastic bags from a vehicle.
According to the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the three men, who were among several others, on seeing the police officers, ran, but were captured.
Police said that a search of the vehicle revealed 24 knitted bags, containing compressed marijuana, with an estimated value of J$4,000,000.
The police said that they seized three vehicles, during the operation, and that charges would be laid, soon, against the three men.
