University Of Guyana Campus Closed Due To Second Bomb Threat

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, February 7, 2019 (CMC) – The Turkeyen campus of the University of Guyana announced, today, that it will be closed for the remainder of the week, following a bomb threat, for the second consecutive day.

The University says, while no explosive device of any kind was found, when officers, from the police force and fire service, searched the institution, late yesterday, “the closure of the campus will enable the administration, staff and student leaders to review the situation and enhance preventive and responsive measures for such threats.”

Classes and full operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, February 11.
