Jamaican Police Probing Triple Murders

KINGSTON, Jamaica, April 23, 2019 (CMC) – Police are investigating the murders of three people, after their bodies were found at their home, by a friend, in Manchester, in west central Jamaica, today.

“This is indeed shocking. This is the first time we have heard of something, like this, because it is a very quiet, farming, hardworking community,” said the Councillor for Belleford Division, Mario Mitchell.

“I just want to encourage the community to remain resolute and vigilant… anyone that has any information, please pass it on to the police,” he added.

A brother of the deceased, speaking on radio, here, said he was not aware of the family being in conflict with anyone.

He said he was informed of the killings by a neighbour and, by the time he reached the scene, “I saw all three of them dead, on a bed”.

“So far, I don’t know if any one of them had an enemy,” he said.

Police said, today, that the number of people killed, here, so far this year, stood at 406, as at the end of April 20; and that 447 people were killed, for the corresponding period, last year.
