Three Plead Guilty To 2011 Murder Of Mother And Daughter In Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica, November 6, 2019 (CMC) – Three men of five, who were charged with the murder of a mother and her daughter, in the central parish of St. Catherine in 2011, have pleaded guilty.

The men, Adrian Campbell, Roshane Goldson and Fabian Smith, appeared in a corporate area court, this morning, and pleaded guilty to non-capital murder.

Prosecutors reported that on July 19, 2011, gunmen invaded the home of Charmaine Rattray, 40, and her daughter, Joeith Lynch, 18.  The women were shot, chopped and beheaded.

Rattray’s head was recovered from the Rio Cobre by divers. Her daughter’s head was recovered days later, in bushes, when Campbell took the police to the location.

Campbell, Goldson and Smith had given caution statements on video, confessing to killing the women. The men will be sentenced on December 11.
