Jamaica Police Investigate Murder Of Former National Footballer

KINGSTON, Jamaica, February 27, 2020 (CMC) – The police have launched an investigation into an incident, in which Irvino “Dada” English, a former member of the national football team, the Reggae Boyz, was shot and killed, in the corporate area community of Waterhouse, late Wednesday.

The police report that English, who was the Assistant Coach of the Wolmer’s Boys’ School Manning Cup team, was attacked and shot multiple times.

He was taken to hospital, where he died, while undergoing treatment. English, a former Captain of Waterhouse Football Club, earned five caps for the Reggae Boyz in the early 2000s.

He attended the Wolmer’s Boys’ School, where he represented the school’s football team, before enrolling at Norman Manley High School. English, who was 42, represented the Reggae Boyz on five occasions, between 2001 and 2002.
