Pock-Knocker Dies After Being Allegedly Beaten By A Woman In Guyana

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, May 5, 2020 (CMC) – Police are searching for a 23-year-old woman, wanted in connection with the murder of her 24-year-old co-worker, whom she had earlier accused of stealing her gun, on Monday.

Police said that Vanir Nasio, a freelance prospector, who mines for diamonds and gold in the alluvial plains of the Guyanese interior, was pronounced dead, after he was beaten by the woman, whose name was not disclosed.

The police report said that the two worked together on a dredge in the Siparuni Backdam and, on Monday, the woman realised that her gun was missing and accused the man of stealing it.

The two got into a fight and the injured man left the mining camp, in the company of another co-worker, to seek medical attention, but collapsed and died on his way to the hospital.

The suspect has not been seen since the incident.
