Trinidad Police Probe Death Of Young Doctor

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago, May 5, 2020 (CMC) – Police are investigating the death of a 24-year-old medical doctor, who died, after he allegedly jumped from a three-storey building, in Champ Fleurs, east of here, during the early hours of Sunday.

Police said that Jeron Kanhai, who lived in San Fernando, south of here, died at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, along the east-west corridor, while receiving medical treatment.

Media reports said, yesterday, that Khanai was in the company of another medical practitioner and a female friend, where they consumed alcohol, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) a hallucinogenic drug and marijuana.

The reports said that Kanhai became erratic, ran to the balcony and jumped to his death. An autopsy has since been ordered to determine the cause of death.
