Caribbean Airlines Now Offering Twice-Weekly Flights From Canada To Guyana

TORONTO, Ontario (Friday, October 30, 2020) — Caribbean Airlines (CA) has re-started commercial operations out of Guyana to Canada.

The twice-weekly service, between Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport and Guyana’s Cheddi Jagan International Airport, features flights, every Monday and Friday, with connections available from Trinidad and Barbados.

CA’s BW 606 will depart Guyana — on Mondays and Fridays — at 1:15am and arrive in Toronto at 6:40pm; and its BW 607 flight will leave Toronto at 10:10pm and arrive in Guyana at 5:25am.

The airline’s schedule also offers three weekly flights, between Guyana and New York, as well as connections out of Trinidad to Guyana.

The company has also announced that travellers, who are Caribbean Miles members and who book and travel between Guyana and New York — from now until November 30 — will receive double miles, which can be used to accelerate their tier status.

As regional borders re-open, the latest being Guyana, CA is reminding all travellers about the protocols that are in place to maintain a safe and enjoyable travel experience for all.

The airline says it has implemented the most stringent hygiene practices, and is adhering to all current international guidelines. Specifically, aircraft are cleaned, daily, at all ports, in keeping with industry standards, with additional sanitization processes being used, as outlined by the regulatory authorities.

The airline’s 737 jet fleet is equipped with state-of-the-art, high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters that capture 99.97 percent of particles, and the disinfectants used to clean the aircraft are approved as effective against COVID-19.

Customers (including children) may be subject to temperature checks and, depending on the destination country, a negative PCR test may be needed before being accepted to travel.

In keeping with the guidelines, outlined by the Public Health Authorities, social distancing is in place, and customers must wear face masks at check-in, at the gate and on board the aircraft.

The airline is urging its customers to check the required COVID-19 travel protocols for entry into Guyana and Canada, via the following links:
