“We Will Be Stronger Because Of Our Struggles”

Chef Selwyn Richards -- largerIt is safe to say that we have entered the second stage of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the hospitality industry has been one of the hardest-hit segments.

We continue to search for new, innovative and creative ways on how to pivot and make adjustments along the way, yet, the challenges are very real and, oftentimes, come with devastating consequences.

Imagine, you have ordered your supplies for your weekend events or dining room service, only to find out, on Friday afternoon, that as of midnight, your events will be cancelled, and your dining room closed — for at least 28 days. And that’s after you have spent thousands of dollars to procure equipment and train staff to be Covid-19 ready. Yes, the challenges are REAL!

But, together we can all get through this.

It will continue to take sacrifices on all our part, but human beings are strong, resourceful, and when we work and collaborate with each other, we are unstoppable.

Life is too short to live it upset, angry, resentful or ungrateful. If we look for the good, we will find it. Let’s choose to be happy and at peace; decide that we will make each day the best possible, grabbing each moment with positive energy, allowing God almighty to elevate us over any, and all, obstacles.

Daylight savings time is now gone, this means we are about to enter into winter mode. Let’s continue to encourage ourselves, and others, to stay safe, stay strong, reduce the noise, be resolute, have faith and believe we will be stronger — because of our struggles.

Wishing you God’s richest blessings, I encourage you to pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. May the good Lord keep and prosper you in good health and wealth.

Stay blessed.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31
