BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (Tuesday, January 19, 2021) — The Barbados government has announced that, starting from January 26, 2021, the United States will require travellers to present a negative COVID-19 test for entry into the country.
Rapid tests are being accepted and, as a result, over the next week, the government of Barbados will be announcing testing facilities dedicated to travellers to the U.S., where rapid tests will be administered.
This will allow for fast-tracking of results for these special cases.
The United Kingdom will also — from January 21, 2021 — require travellers to present a negative COVID-19 test for entry into the country.
The Mia Mottley-led Administration is advising outbound U.K. travellers, requiring a Rapid Antigen test in order to facilitate travel, to present themselves to the Best-dos Santos Laboratory, starting today, Tuesday January 19, 2021, and continuing daily, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The testing process will take approximately one-and-a-half hours from registration through test certification, and travellers are advised to plan accordingly.
