Chef Selwyn Richards -- largerYes! Ontario has now reopened for full-capacity dining and events, with proof of double-vaccination.

The last couple of years have been really challenging for our industries; not everyone has survived and with the high food costs and labour shortages, we can anticipate more hiccups.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the various levels of the Canadian, Ontario and Greater Toronto Area (GTA) governments in the fantastic job they have done, with getting most of the population vaccinated.

We now have more reasons to be optimistic. We have entered into a new normal. We now need to look to the future — the past is just that, “past”. There is no going back.

How we manage our businesses, relationships, interact and treat each other, is very important. What lessons have we learned from Covid-19? We should no longer take anything for granted, change is the only constant we have.

If ever you feel lost, terrified, emotionally and physically drained, when you feel anxiety has overpowered you and world issues have devoured you, just remember you are not alone. You are loved, beyond measure. Your story is an amazing one, waiting to be told.

Keep the faith, and remember: “But they, who wait for the Lord, shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31.

Wishing you God’s richest blessings, I encourage you to pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. May the good Lord keep and prosper you in good health and wealth.

Stay blessed!
