AstraZeneca Booster Shot Now Available For All Eligible Barbadians

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (Tuesday, November 2, 2021) — The criteria for the AstraZeneca booster shot has been widened to include all eligible Barbadians, 18 years and older.

Word of this has come from Co-coordinator of the Immunisation Unit, Major David Clarke. Previously, the booster was given to individuals 70 years and older, immuno-compromised persons, as well as to frontline and healthcare workers.

Now, all adults, who received their second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, six months ago or longer, will qualify for the booster or third shot.

At present, the AstraZeneca vaccine booster shot is the only one being offered, and is set to be administered at all of the vaccination sites, across the island, from today, Tuesday, November 2.
