TORONTO, Ontario (Tuesday, June 28, 2022) — The Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) and Zulu Alpha Kilo, recently won a Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity silver award, in the Social and Influencer category, for its ‘Micropedia of Micro-aggressions’ campaign.
The campaign was built around an online database of the hundreds of micro-aggressions that people face in their daily lives; aiming to educate people on words and actions they may not even realize are discriminatory and reinforce systemic racism..
It was also nominated in the 2022 Design Shortlist for a marketing award, by The Design.
The BBPA was also nominated, alongside other brands, for The 100 Marketing Awards. The award was delivered to the BBPA, during The Design in-person Marketing Awards centennial year celebration.
In a media release, the BBPA expressed pride in the acknowledgements, adding that it is “inspired to continue to be intentional in the pursuit of excellence and real sustainable change in our community, using relevant tools and resources, including marketing tactics and campaigns.”
