Dominican Wins Caribbean Queen Show

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua CMC – Dominica won the Jaycees Queen pageant for a second consecutive year after Leslassa Shillingford won the 2013 title on Friday night, as Carnival activities continue in Antigua and Barbuda.

Miss. Shillingford won from a field of 11 contestants. She was also adjudged winner of the Best Swim wear, Best Performing Talent and Best Interview awards. She also copped the Miss Photogenic award.

Taitu Goodwin of Anguilla placed second with Antigua and Barbuda’s contestant Raynell Carroll, who also copped the Best Evening Gown award, placed first runner up.

The Carnival celebrations climaxes on August 6 with the parade of the bands.
