Antigua Government Website Hacked

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – The official website of the Antigua and Barbuda government was restored Saturday after being hacked for several hours.

A brief statement told people trying to access the website www.ab.gov.ag that the site had been hacked and was re-directing them to a black background featuring a green and white eagle.

The new page greeted people with the caption “HaCked by ShinObi H4xOr & Mr.Lonley473.” with a stamp like image below that read “hacked.”
Government spokesman Maurice Merchant had earlier told the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) that he was not yet aware of the hacking but promised to investigate.

The site has since been restored.
