KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent, Apr. 5, (CMC) – The head of the Carnival Band Association (CBA), Hugh Raguette, will return to court, on June 30, to answer four counts of trying to defraud the United States Embassy in Barbados.

Raguette pleaded not guilty to the charges, when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias at the Serious Offences Court, here, on Monday.

The prosecution alleges that Raguette had, on September 9, 2011, September 9, 2013, as well as on July 29, 2013 and September 6, 2011, intended to defraud the U.S. consular officer in Barbados, by falsely representing himself to several people, including Mavis E. Johnson, C.B. Richards, and H.V. Prescott.

The magistrate allowed the station bail to continue.
