Dominica Rattled By Earthquake

ROSEAU, Dominica, Apr. 12, (CMC) – An earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.1, rattled Dominica, today, but there were no reports of injuries or damages.

The Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the University of the West Indies (UWI), said that the quake occurred at 8:36 am (local time) at a depth of five kilometres.

It said that the earthquake was located 50 kilometers north of the capital and 58 kilometers, south, south east of Point-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe and 131 kilometers north, north west of Fort-de-France in Martinique.

In recent months, the Caribbean has recorded several tremors. Last week, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 rocked sections of Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada.
