CASTRIES, St. Lucia, June 4, 2020 (CMC) – A construction worker has died, after a concrete wall collapsed on him, in the southern city of Vieux Fort, the St. Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) has confirmed.
SLFS spokeswoman, Stacy Joseph, said that the fire service had responded to a call at Pierrot, where they found a man, who appeared to be in his thirties, unresponsive and with no vital signs.
He has since been identified as Paul Dormant.
“Information received, indicated that a concrete wall collapsed on a male construction worker at a house renovation site,” Joseph said, in a statement to the media.
“It was observed that the patient had deformities on his body. CPR was immediately initiated and continued, en route to St Jude Hospital, where the patient was pronounced dead, by a medical practitioner,” Joseph added.
