Wellness Tip: Battle Asthma With “Cleaner” Sleep

Submitted by Dr. George Traitses

Pillows can be a sanctuary for dust mites, and dust mites can aggravate asthma and other respiratory problems. Dr. George Traitses recommends washing pillows regularly and replacing them annually. Sheets should also be washed in hot water regularly, and pillows fluffed with the dryer set to “hot.” To experience results, be diligent with these steps for three to six months-don’t expect immediate results, but do look forward to gradual improvement of symptoms.
