TORONTO, Ontario — On Thursday, March 17, Formula Honda, an award-winning automobile retailer in Scarborough, donated a cheque for $4,700.00 to The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) Foundation for its Maternal Newborn and Childcare Program at the hospital’s Birchmount Campus.

The cheque was the result of a fundraising networking event, organized by Nial Boatswain, the dealership’s General Manager, in partnership with The Scarborough Hospital Foundation, and entitled “Ladies Night Out”.

At the time of the event, held on March 7, in celebration of International Women’s Day, Botswain had said, “This event was inspired by International Women’s Day, and we wanted to, not only bring women together for a night of food, fun and friendship as they support each other, but also to help the Maternal Newborn and Child Care program at the Scarborough Hospital.”

He added, as an extension of his company’s goal to serve the community’s most vulnerable members, the automobile dealership was broadening its focus to include newborns and expectant mothers at risk.

And he had pledged to match donations, up to a maximum of $2500, when guests and participants made a monetary contribution towards the worthy cause — the result: $4,700.00.
