Police Officer Shot And Killed In Grenada

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, Apr. 20, (CMC) – A police officer was shot and killed as he responded to a dispute in Mount Stanhope, the Grenada police said in a statement, today.

It said that Corporal Daniel Edgar, who is attached to the Western Division, was shot, and that a second person was also shot and killed during a shootout with the police.

The statement did not identify the second person, but media reports named him as Kevon Wellington, a father of five.

The police statement gave no details as to what incident the law enforcement authorities were responding to, adding only that “autopsies are pending (and) the investigations continue”.
