GEORGETOWN, Guyana, February 4, 2020 (CMC) – Police say one person is assisting their investigations into the death of a 28-year-old employee of a security firm, during a card game, yesterday.

The police said that Raymond Leitch, a miner, who also works as a security guard, was shot in the chest, during the card game in the Quarterstone Backdam, in the Cuyuni river area.

A Police report said that Leitch and the suspect, also a security guard, were involved in the card game, known as a “Chance”, and the two got into an argument over one of the games.

During the argument, it is alleged that the suspect pulled out his company-issued firearm and shot the miner to the upper left side of his chest. The injured man collapsed and died while the suspect was arrested.
