Search Called Off For Plane That Crashed Into Dominican Sea

ROSEAU, Dominica, February 21, 2020 (CMC) – Today, rescue teams called off the search for a single engine aircraft that plunged into the sea, soon after take-off from the Douglas Charles Airport, last Sunday evening.

Police Commissioner, Daniel Carbon, confirmed, at a news conference, that the search for the Piper F-OGKO aircraft that was carrying four unidentified people, as well as the two pilots, had been called off.

Earlier this week, French authorities said, in a statement, that a 16-year-old and his 55-year-old parents were on the ill-fated flight.

On Monday, local fishermen, who are assisting in the rescue operations, showed reporters the landing gear of the Piper F-OGKO aircraft, which they had retrieved from the sea.
