REAL ESTATE…with a difference: Shakira’s Miami Beach Home!

The expression “Blond Bombshell” isn’t powerful enough to describe Shakira Mebarak, Columbia’s hot 5’2” singer, songwriter and model. For first-hand evidence, one only has to watch her new music video with Rihanna, “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” which hit #1 on iTunes within 24 hours of its release. Shakira was in 2013’s Forbes list of the 100 most powerful women in the world. She has also been heavily involved in charity work around the globe and has given numerous benefit concerts. Shakira is returning this year to her judge’s seat on NBC’s “The Voice.” In January, she and partner, Gerard Piqué, had their son, Milan in Barcelona where the couple now lives. Piqué is a center back soccer player for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

With Shakira’s success with the song “Whenever, Wherever,” she purchased her Miami Beach home near the popular South Beach in 2001. With a move to Barcelona with her family, she has recently put the home on the market. Though she paid under $4 million in 2001, the home was a three bath, five bathroom, 6,672-square-foot waterfront property, which she enlarged by another 1,700 square feet to include an additional three bedrooms and four more bathrooms. During the renovation, she added wood floors, a state-of-the-art kitchen with Miele appliances and a Sub-Zero refrigerator. Now at 8,355 square feet with six bedrooms and nine baths, the home has a second floor master with nursery-office, a pool and yacht dock.

“The Voice” judge was asking $15.95 million for Miami Beach home, now $12.99 million.
