A Letter From Ontario Premier Doug Ford To Members Of The Media

Dear Members of the Media:

I want to take an opportunity to say thank you, to each and every one of you.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, across the world, you have been working around-the-clock to get the public the most accurate and up-to-date facts. I can’t stress how important your role is, at this time, and I know many of you are making sacrifices, as you continue to do your jobs.

We know you’re working long hours, while juggling family priorities or your own health, but your dedication, during this time, is incredible.

The fact is, families across Ontario, in every urban centre and every small town, rely on you and your reporting to keep them safe, and that’s not an easy job. At this time, I want to remind you that the health and wellbeing of every person in this province is my top priority, and my team and I are working every day to keep you safe.

Often during challenging times like these, the people on the frontlines forget to take care of themselves. I hope you are taking the appropriate measures to make sure, both your physical and mental health are taken care of.

I’d also like to recognize Jamie Tumelty from CityTV. Even on short-notice, you’re here getting your colleagues what they need, without complaint or hesitation. You’re an all-star, Jamie. Thank you.

My friends, we are all in this together, and together we will come out of this situation stronger than ever.
