The Editor:
On behalf of my organization, I wish to extend warmest congratulations to Dr. Irfaan M. Ali and his PPP/C party for their victory in the March 2, 2020 elections in Guyana.
We are aware that all the international observers, diplomats and political parties, as well as the APNU-AFC, knew, since March 4, 2020, from an analysis of GECOM’s certified and signed SOPs, that the PPP/C had won the elections.
Our own analysis of the SOPs shows that the PPP/C led the APNU-AFC coalition by over 15,000 votes.
We sincerely hope that the Granger administration will concede defeat and allow for a smooth transition. We also know that Dr. Ali is committed to inclusive government, which is an important component of the PPP/C’s manifesto.
We are confident that Dr. Ali will govern for all Guyanese.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kumar Mahabir,
