Guyana’s First Lady Calls For More Support For Women In Business

GEORGETOWN, Guyana (Thursday, December 17, 2020) — First Lady, Arya Ali, last evening, advocated for more women in business, and called on the wider society to support them.

The First Lady made this statement in her feature address at the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana (WCCIG) Inaugural Founders’ Dinner, at Parc Rayne.

“When female-owned businesses are having a hard time surviving, we cannot throw back and say they did not work hard enough. We all share the blame. We must support each other,” she said.

WCCIG advocates for, and actively works to create, equal and fair business opportunities by fostering an environment that nurtures the growth of women-owned businesses in Guyana.
