Walk With Excellence Set To Start

On May 29, at 10.00 AM, at CW Jefferys , 340 Sentinel, award-winning visual artist and designer, Kwame Delfish, will kick off this year’s Third Annual Walk with Excellence.

Over 600 students graduating from C. W. Jefferys, Westview Centennial, Downsview Secondary and Emery Collegiate will be taking a “Walk of Excellence” to York University.

This Third Annual parade is an urban rite of passage from high school to post secondary education for local youth.

The Walk is a public demonstration of student achievement. The parade will travel north along Sentinel Road from the high school to the university. It is expected to take 40-minutes.

Joining this year’s Walk is Director of the TDSB Donna Quan, students from York University and members of Labour and Community organizations.

Also joining this year will be members of the Caribbean Consular Corp, adding the flavour of the summer Pan Am and Para Pan games.

Students will be received by the President of York University, Dr. Mamdouh Shoukri.
